Laura has gained valuable knowledge working as the SLP Brain Injury Specialist for a day program for adults with hereditary or acquired head injuries, but she believes her most influential perspectives on brain injury result from personal experience. She has given several dozen presentations about being “on the other side of the speech pathology table”, including at the National Institutes of Health, the 2021 conference of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and multiple graduate Speech Pathology programs. Laura also coauthored an article detailing some of her journey for the December 2015 issue of the ASHA Leader.
