Job description
The Radiology Department provides medical support for physicians in providing diagnostic imaging to assist healthcare providers in identifying injuries for treatment. The expectation of the technician is to treat the patients with exceptional and professional care. In order to ensure that the patient’s process is fluid, the technician is responsible for walking with the patient from the exam room to the radiology location, communicating the procedure prior to taking x-rays, then escorting the patient back to their exam room to maintain the patient flow for both the patient and the physician’s schedule. Responsibilities and Duties: RT'swill take X-rays, and other assigned duties.

Follow physicians orders regarding images needed
Operate and adjust imaging equipment
Accurately and compassionately explain procedures to the patients
Position the patient and equipment in a way that protects patient safety through a proper distance, angle, and height from the patient
Exhibit patience and empathy when patients are distressed, uncomfortable and hesitant during the procedure
Follow procedures that prevent unnecessary exposure of radiation to themselves, as well as the patient such as patient-shielding Keep track of and organize patient records
Ability to position patients and use equipment skillfully to capture useful, high-quality diagnostic images
Keep equipment in good working order
Maintain patient records
RT Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
ARRT Certified & Accredited Degree Required
Great, friendly, and compassionate people skills
Working Conditions:

8 hours per day required, Monday through Friday
Minimal overtime may be required, when necessary
Computer, X-ray machines, and office equipment used daily
High volume of patients
Minimum travel possible
Possible exposure to the risk of radiation Physical Abilities:
Capability of working 8 hours per day
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, use hands and arms
To explain instructions to the patient through the X-ray procedure
To lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Able to articulate clear and precise instructions for the safety of the patient, tech, and company
