This course explores the natural process of nursing, a fundamental practice among mammals, and the challenges that can arise. Nursing is a perfectly natural process that all mammals utilize in order to feed their young. And just like the natural process of childbirth, it comes with several challenges. You’ll learn about common biomechanical issues affecting feeding, strategies to support both mother and baby, and techniques to improve comfort and effectiveness. Key topics include recognizing dysfunction, optimizing nursing positions, and identifying when co-management referrals are needed.
