Understanding the neurology of subluxation is based on appreciating how the spinal joint complex is innervated. Nociceptors and mechanoreceptors innervate the joint complex and their function is altered by subluxation. The outcome can be pain, visceral symptoms, cerebellar symptoms, vestibular symptoms, motor control issues, or changes in emotional status.
